Love Letter in the Rain

We find ourselves staying up late

again

talking till late at night,

discovering that silence between conversation is caught between

rain drops and the sound of

your breathing sends

shivers down my arm,

We laugh at the way we say

“I love you” simultaneously,

easily slipping from our lips

whispering it out in the night,

Someday,

you say,

we will meet,

as the sun meets the sky,

as the moon meets the stars,

this join,

a universal truth,

as been waiting quietly in the background,

waiting to unfold,

mysterious and magical,

a flower unfolding petals at the first touch

of morning dew.
